A quick request for help
To make the problem short. I was banned wrongly (with a message saying my account is terminated permenantly) and now am in the process of requesting an investigation of my game log to reinstate my account.
My question is, when I get my account back, will I have lost all my characters/progress/items/gold?
Does anyone here have first hand experience?
Many thanks

Your other thread was closed for a reason.
There's nothing we can do. I've been falsely banned more than once. It happens, and they will fix it if you are patient and submit a ticket to support.
That's all you can do.

As far as I know, your stuff will still all be there. However, I've never been banned firsthand, so a second opinion would be good.

Well, many thanks. It is comforting to know it will eventually come to good result, since I have done none of the things they said I did.
Anyways, many thanks to those who replied. I would feel horrible if I just loss all the progress on my account for something I didn't do.

They won't trash your account. If you get it back, it'll be in the state that you left it.
Provided, of course, that they didn't ban your account because they detected a gold seller and/or bot had gotten access to it and had stolen all your stuff before using it as a spam account, which has happened. If that's the case, though, it was the spammer/bot that wiped your account, not ANet.

Still hadn't heard a word from Anet yet after nearly a week now. The last update I received was they have escalated my ticket to a senior staff, and that was over 4 days ago.
What the hell? I have reached Gail Grey on wiki yesterday. Hopefully she will do something about it.
In the meantime, I was going through the archives on wiki in Gail's page, and I discovered quite a few people having had the same problem as myself, who was later on able to get their account reinstated. The thing that disturbs me is, there are two sceniarios where a ban might result.
1. Passing of items of significant value for nothing or close to nothing. This happens from time to time for people loaning or handling items/gold amoung friends. Other more troubling cases involve being scammed by the 100G/!00P method, to which I was a victim of and I also submitted a report right afterwards
2. Having associated with known RMT accounts. This is the most troubling of all. I read someone's case (who was also able to reinstate her account afterwards) that she had helped someone ran through Nightfall campaign for several days' work in exchange for getting paid 300k. That account was discovered to be a RMT, and was terminated subsequently, BUT the player who unknowingly helped him also received a permanent ban.
When she got her ban lifted afterwards, she lost her 300k gold even though the Anet stuff acknowledged that she is innocent. Her only crimes was "having unknowingly assisted" known RMT account, and because the money came from that account, thus it remains confisticated.
You know, I might have traded a few items with accounts of questionable backgrounds, UNKNOWINGLY, during the peak hours when trading activity was high from time to time. None of the trades were particularly suspicious to me though, except I frequently participate the trading market for Ectos and Armbraces. I am saying I guess I COULD HAVE dealt with RMT traders, something anyone here might have done.
This is scary, I can be banned or caught in cross fire for dealing with strangers.
Goddamn Anet and this stupid mechanism!

Do try to keep in mind that you may not succeed in convincing Anet support (or us, for that matter) that you really are innocent and get your account reinstated.
"Go to support" is what we tell you to do because it's the only thing you CAN do. Not because it's guaranteed to work.

If what you say is true, then those reasons could get anyone who does high-end trading or mission/etc running banned too. I think the player-base should send a clear message to ANET that their propriety methods of detecting fraudulent activities is not 100% functional, and should be replaced with a better one. In the mean time, they should thoroughly compensate the innocent players for the inconvenience(s) caused, or at the very least deal with requests on a more timely manner. Obviously, it seems they lack the man-power to offer high-quality customer service.

Thanks, that helps, really.
Has any part of my post tried to convince you here? Yes, you might get the impression that I implied my innocence, but seriously, is this the focus of my posts here?
You made your point, if you have nothing more to add, move on.

Too bad, it sucks that I seem to be the minority here. If their mechanism failed at a larger proportion, I might have a better chance at arousing their attentions. Anyways, it seems I can only wait.
Anyone else here having had similar experiences before? care to pitch in?

Ok Hellswung, here's the deal:
I know it makes people mad, but when we get these "I've been banned" threads (and believe me, we get dozens) our policy is to lock them.
There really is nothing to be gained in discussing bans - all you can do is keep on at the sources you've already tried - starting with a support ticket and, if all else fails, escalating all the way to Gaile Grey.
We do understand your annoyance, seriously. But, as I said, as a fansite there is nothing we can do for you.
